Dedicated Oklahoman
Involvement in Civic functions is important to Michael, because he believes it preserves our since of community and culture. One of the struggles of development is the ability to maintain our home town feel and the rural way of life. Michael will fight to maintain our home-town feel by meeting with local governments as we develop our economy.
True American
Preserving American Values, and our way of life is important to Michael. Michael is seen here discussing the upcoming deployment of his unit in the Oklahoma National Guard 45th Infantry Brigade with fellow soldier Ryan Vermillion.
Health care in Oklahoma
For Seniors
We have to do more to embrace our senior citizens; they have worked hard and contributed much to our society. Michael knows the hardships a senior citizen faces. It was tough watching his great-grandmother, Margie Hodgkinson, struggle when deciding to purchase her medication or groceries.
For Families
Michael knows we need a better statewide health plan to help all Oklahoma Citizens receive proper medication and care at an affordable-reasonable rate. We will work against the difficulties of acquiring insurance while providing a reasonable change in direction from the current system. We need lower premiums and will design policies which help with the burden of medical costs while not increasing premiums.
Product of Public Education
Public Education is what provided the foundation for Michael and Julie. Without programs like OHLAP, OTAG, and FAFSA they would not have been able to continue their education. For that reason Michael will fight for proper spending of appropriated funds to better serve both the Students and the Classroom.
A good start for Oklahoma is to keep perfecting what works and change programs which no longer work. We also must foster encouragement for good teachers to stay in Oklahoma. We will develop a program to recruit good teachers and it will provide benefits equal to or greater than the national average.
