Education
Involvement in Civic functions is important to Michael, because he believes it preserves our since of community and culture. We should always encourage and support our Local Schools and Universities sports teams.
Product of Public Education
Public Education is what provided the foundation for Michael and Julie. Without programs like OHLAP, OTAG, and FAFSA they would not have been able to continue their education. For that reason Michael will fight for proper spending of appropriated funds to better serve both the Students and the Classroom.
A good start for Oklahoma is to keep perfecting what works and change programs which no longer work. We also must foster encouragement for good teachers to stay in Oklahoma. We will develop, with others, a program to recruit good teachers and it will provide benefits equal to or greater than the national average.
"We can not ask for the average because when you ask for average you get average. We need better than average, we ask Justin to get A's and B's in school because we want better than average. Our young people deserve the best opportunity we can give them, and as a legislator I will focus on all levels of higher education. Career Tech needs to remain a vital institution in our educational system, and should be properly funded."-Mike Pierson
